True Grit

It has been snowing lately. We’re not very good at dealing with weather in the UK; we prefer to talk about it. Once the snow line rose above two inches, the country ground to a halt.
In the case of Cumbria, it slid to a halt. The local highways department decided to be parsimonious with the grit and as a result, most of the inhabitants spent the last week doing Torville and Dean impressions on the icy roads and pavements.
Inevitably, this was the subject for this week’s Westmorland Gazette cartoon. Below are the four rough ideas I submitted. You can find out which one appeared on the front page by visiting my website any time from Wednesday 30th onwards.
